"We're playing basketball..."

CLEMSON - After football, there's no doubt that basketball is DeAndre McDaniel's sport of choice.

And it shows too as his name was mentioned by teammates the most when asked, "Which four of your teammates would you take with you to play basketball?"

He also admitted that he probably has the "most game" of anybody on the team.

"Oh, yeah," he said. "I love basketball, that's my secondary sport."

McDaniel said he would pick up Coty Sensabaugh, Crezdon Butler, Marcus Gilchrist and Andre Branch.

With four defensive backs and his big man-Branch-McDaniel said his team would play with speed. A look that would be similar to one that Oliver Purnell runs.

"We'd be pressing the whole game," he said.

Freshman running back Rod McDowell said he'd take a few of his fellow freshmen: Bryce McNeal, Jonathan Meeks and Tajh Boyd. His fifth would be the most recognizable face and name on the team: C.J. Spiller.

"I would take C.J. because C.J. Spiller would bring all the fans," McDowell said.

Meanwhile Spiller said he'd run with McDaniel, Jamie Harper, Branch and Jarvis Jenkins.

"I know for a fact (McDaniel) can play. I heard a lot of stories about Jamie, I know he can play. I need the height to go inside, so I'd go with (Jenkins)," Spiller said.

Unlike McDaniel, who is looking for a fast-paced, high-energy team, Ricky Sapp's five would feature several big bodies.

"I'd take Andre Branch, Kourtnei Brown, Marcus Gilchrist and Crezdon Butler," he said.

Crezdon Butler, whose name also came up a lot, said he would take Branch, Gilchrist, Sensabaugh and Ricky Sapp.

Kyle Parker would prefer to take his four to the golf course.

"It'd probably be Mike Wade, Michael Palmer, Taylor Ogle and Willy (Korn) would come too," he said. "We'd have a good time."

Without hesitation, Jenkins seriously named his four.

"I'd take Xavier Dye, Branch, Gilchrist and McDaniel," he said.

Coach Dabo Swinney said he's picking Palmer, McDaniel, Jamie Cumbie and Gilchrist.

"Palmer is a smooth operator," Swinney said.

He's also positive he'd take McDaniel. So is Spiller.

"(McDaniel) can play. I never played against him in high school, but while I was down there, I always heard about him," Spiller said. "Coach Swinney always told me about him. Just about everybody on the team said he's got a lot of game."
