Tigers land commitment No. 18

The Clemson coaching staff has picked up the verbal commitment of another talented prospect.

OL Gifford Timothy

Gifford HS (DE) Coach Mark DelPercio believes Clemson's newest commitment Gifford Timothy is not only a standout on the field but also off the field.

"He's a great young man, a type of young man that there's never been an issue with—behavior, discipline any of that stuff," DelPercio said. "He's a quality young man. As a person he's outstanding.

"He's an outstanding student, teammate and classmate. He's the real deal in terms of a complete package."

At 6-6 280, Timothy is the biggest player DelPercio has ever coached.

With good feet and long arms, Timothy also possess a great work ethic.

"With that size and work ethic, you can't go wrong," Del Percio said. "Wherever he went and visited, that's why they offered. They saw his work ethic, they saw his size. You don't always get that work ethic with guys that size."

Timothy also had offers from Maryland, Virginia, Utah and Boise State. He also was hearing from Penn State.

A two star rated prospect, he's the No. 112 ranked offensive tackle in the country according to Scout.com.
