The Latest on Noah Whiteside

What's the latest on Noah Whiteside? That's the million dollar question these days, however there may be some light at the end of the tunnel. Whiteside has already made up his mind, yet has not announced. Is there any way to tell which way he may be leaning?

Noah Whiteside, the Palmetto state's top wide receiver prospect in 2003, is set to announce his decision.

And while the entire Whiteside family is keeping quiet about this highly sensitive situation, there have been some additional developments in the last several days that could allow the Tigers to sneak one out here.

After all, is it any coincidence that Noah has decided to wait several days after his official visit to Columbia to announce his decision? Wouldn't he go ahead and tell the world that it was South Carolina if that was his school of choice?

Perhaps, but not necessarily. Whiteside verbally committed to the Gamecocks back in early December only days after indicating the Tigers had pulled even, if not ahead, for his services.

He then changed his mind only weeks later, citing that Clemson and South Carolina were even again. "I'm going to the school that wants me the most," Whiteside told earlier this month.

While we can speculate until the cows come home, there is news to report regarding his situation, and hardly anyone has gone public with this information publicly just yet.

Siting two independent sources earlier today, the Clemson Tigers, are in fact in serious contention for his services. While numerous other services have gone ahead and penciled Whiteside in as a Gamecock waiting in the wings, hold on for just a second.

Why else would Rick Stockstill have not already offered Brandon Allen, a star wide receiver out of Atlanta's Westlake high school? Why else would there not be another target at wide receiver in the 2003 class?

Are you trying to tell me that Clemson will only bring in one wide receiver this year?

With the return of Roscoe Crosby and the addition of Tennessee transfer Michael Collins, some fans could certainly point to the reasoning behind that point.

However, I tend to believe it's because there's that one wide receiver out there that Stockstill wants, and there's that one wide receiver out there that Stockstill thinks he's going to get.

And you know who it is.

Stay tuned; Noah will announce his decision to the world tomorrow. Top Stories
