Young Surprises Everyone

Just when you thought you understood the recruiting process, you quickly realize how quickly things can change in a heartbeat. As is the case with Union's Eric Young, who made a surprise commitment to Phil Fulmer and the Tennessee Volunteers this weekend.

It was thought that five-star offensive lineman Eric Young from Union, South Carolina would end up at South Carolina or Clemson. But anytime the Vols are in the mix, you never know. And this weekend, "Big E" visited Knoxville and came home a Volunteer.

"I did commit to Tennessee," said Young. "I liked everyone there and I can play early at Tennessee. Coach (Philip) Fulmer is a good coach and I like (OL Coach) Coach (Jimmy Ray) Stevens. It will be hard to tell coach (Tommy) Bowden and Coach (Lou) Holtz that I am going out of state but they and everyone has too understand that this is the best decision for me."

The big offensive linmen will still have visits from both Clemson head coach Tommy Bowden (Thursday) and South Carolina head coach Lou Holtz this week, so stay tuned!
