Has Kinlaw Eliminated Clemson?

With the Tigers already securing the verbal commitments of two running backs in the 2003 recruiting class, it appears as though one of the top running backs in the state is now making other plans. Has Stratford's Rodney Kinlaw eliminated the Tigers from consideration?

Running back Rodney Kinlaw has narrowed it down to two schools after visiting Virginia Tech this weekend. Kinlaw, from Goose Creek (S.C.) Stratford High School, will decide in the next week between the Hokies and Nittany Lions. "It is down to Virginia Tech and Penn State," said Kinlaw.

"The Tech visit was good. Coach Beamer seems like a great guy. I really like the players and environment. Right now, I am leaving the state. I will announce by the end of the week or next Monday."

Kinlaw will entertain Coach Beamer on Tuesday and Coach Paterno on Wednesday for in-home visits.

Rodney rushed for almost 1,800 yards and 30 touchdowns his senior season on the gridiron and visited the Tigers back on January 10th. His main recruiter from Clemson was assistant coach Burton Burns.

We will continue to keep you updated on his recruitment, right up through signing day.
