After Thursday's practice, Clemson Coach Dabo Swinney said that backup SAM linebacker Scotty Cooper will be out for Saturday's game against Wake Forest. Daniel Andrews is slated to backup starter Kevin Alexander.
Cooper, who has been practicing in a yellow jersey, has been suffering from headaches as a result of a concussion against Maryland. Swinney said Cooper has has yet to be cleared by team doctors.
Swinney said several receivers will play on Saturday. The first four are Jacoby Ford, Xavier Dye, Marquan Jones and Terrance Ashe. Brandon Clear, Brandon Ford and Jaron Brown could see time too.
Dalton Freeman has officially been named the starter at center.
"He's really come on and created a good situation for us inside," Swinney said. "I'm really pleased with how he's practiced. Hopefully he'll play well Saturday."
Landon Walker will start at right tackle and David Smith will continue to rotate in as the backup.
