Tigers land another 2011 commitment

After Clemson's 38-3 win over Wake Forest on Saturday, Cortez Davis committed to the Tigers.

Mainland HS safety Cortez Davis committed to Clemson today after the 38-3 win over Wake Forest.

Davis is high school teammates with current Clemson commit Marlin Lane. Like Lane, Davis is also in the class of 2011.

He had 46 tackles as a freshman with seven interceptions. As a sophomore season he had 36 tackles, with three for a loss and four interceptions through 11 games. That year, the defense didn't allow more than 14 points against them all season. Davis was named All-County (Orlando Sentinel), All-Area News-Journal.

Davis is 6-5, 180 pounds.

He joins Brandon Ellerbe, Lane and DeShaun Williams.
