LB Marcus Bullard Profile
Columbia (SC) Spring Valley HS linebacker Marcus Bullard was back in Clemson on Saturday for the Tiger's 34-21 win over Virginia.
CUTigers caught up with Bullard on Sunday.
He gave the Atlantic Division Champion Tigers a thumbs up for closing out their opponent.
"My favorite part was probably the fourth quarter. It all of a sudden just started happening," Bullard said. "The running back wasn't going anywhere. They couldn't really get the running back in the first half, but they got him in the fourth quarter."
Both of his parents attended Clemson. His father, Wilbur, was a running back on the 1981 National Championship team. Though the younger Bullard doesn't claim any favorites, he's been visiting Clemson on game day since the end of his freshman year--that's when he first started receiving interest to play football for the orange and purple.
"I was a defensive end. That's what I was getting recruited for. That's where I played until 10th grade," he said. "I was moved to strong-side linebacker this year."
Since then, he's been hearing mostly from Clemson defensive backs coach Charlie Harbison.
The class of 2011 standout recently picked up his first offer last week from Wake Forest.
Bullard has also watched games at Wake Forest and Auburn this season. He's also receiving interest from Maryland, Vanderbilt, N.C. State and Virginia.
"I don't really have any favorites. I've only visited three of the schools, so I can't really pick a favorite," he said.
Planning to major in business management, Bullard already has a pretty good idea of what he's looking for from the next level.
"I like Clemson. It doesn't have a really big campus and I don't care about that," he said. "I want to find a school that's going to get me that (business management) degree.
"While I have to have good academics, I want to have good coaches. I know coach Harbison and coach (Kevin) Steele are good coaches."
Bullard stands 6-3 and weighs 200 pounds.
