The Clemson coaching staff completed a two-for-two package this weekend for their 2010 recruiting class, gaining the verbal commitments of both Josh Watson and Laurence Gibson, CUTigers.com has now confirmed.

Gibson confirmed his verbal commitment in a brief telephone conversation with CUTigers Sunday morning.

"I'm committed to Clemson," he said, shortly before electing to conduct the rest of the interview later Sunday evening.

He chose the Tigers over offers from Virginia Tech, Auburn and a handful of other schools. Syracuse, Georgia, Mississippi State and Utah all offered the four-star standout last week after he turned in an impressive performance at Hargrave's winter combine.

Gibson measured at 6-6 296 pounds, ran a 4.77 40, jumped 8.7 feet on the standing broad jump, bench pressed 225 pounds 23 times and maxed out on incline bench at 335.

His main recruiter to Clemson is offensive tackles/tight ends coach Danny Pearman.

Gibson, like Watson, is also a four-star prospect and will enroll next semester and be available for the start of spring practice in March.

With his verbal commitment locked up, the Tigers now have 20 pledges in place for the 2010 recruiting class.

Clemson is expected to sign no less than 22 prospects this year.
