Peach state QB visits Clemson

An offer didn't come through today for this Peach State quarterback, but it could be coming within the next day or two.

QB Hutson Mason Profile

Hutson Mason was on campus at Clemson today for an unofficial visit.

"Coach (Dabo) Swinney just arrived from New York when we were leaving, so things were pretty hectic," he said. "I don't think coach Swinney has even looked at my film yet. He's been busy with practice and the bowl game. Coach (Billy) Napier has looked at it. He's really impressed.

"I know coach Swinney is going to look at it pretty quickly. I should hear from them probably tomorrow or sometime soon."

Mason told CUTigers that he was impressed with the facilities and that he enjoyed meeting the coaches, all of whom he called "very genuine."

"It was an overall good experience. It was what I expected," he said. "I didn't expect anything to be bad or anything. I expected it to be top notch. That's what they were."

While in Tigertown, Mason went through the academic buildings, all the football facilities and saw the freshmen living areas.

"After that, I went and sat in coach Napier's office and we talked football for about 30 minutes," he said. "We went in coach Swinney's office. He was out of town and we sat with him for about 10 minutes. After that we left."

CUTigers asked, are you disappointed you didn't get an offer today?

"No, not really, because I feel that it's going to come. Coach Napier likes me a lot," Mason said. "If he likes me a lot, I think coach Swinney will too. I guess if it doesn't come, it'll make my decision a little bit easier."

Mason is deciding between Georgia and Mississippi State- Clemson too, if an offer is made.

His decision will be announced sometime on Sunday or Monday.
