Outside linebacker Stephone Anthony is one of a trio of prospects walking the halls at Anson. His classmate, safety Brandon Ellerbee, is a Clemson commitment for 2011 and senior Tra Thomas is another Tiger commitment for 2010.
One of the coaches to stop by was Clemson defensive tackles coach Dan Brooks.
"It's good to meet all the coaches and try to get to know them with what little time we have," Anthony told CUTigers in a recent interview. "It's kind of cool seeing them all around the school."
With offers from Clemson, North Carolina, North Carolina State, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Virginia, Virginia Tech, LSU and Maryland, Anthony told CUTigers that he still doesn't have a list of favorites. (Scout.com)
"It's still wide-open right now," he said.
Anthony took last week off after a now that football season is over. He's now back in the weight room and working towards next season. In a couple of months, he'll hit the diamond as a catcher on the Anson baseball team.
Currently, he said no schools are recruiting him to play baseball.
"I'd love to play both (football and baseball) in college. If I could, I would," he said.
Anthony, an early four-star standout according to Scout.com, has his eyes set on the Under Armor All-America game. If he's invited to play in that in 2011, he'd like to make his commitment then.
When deciding on which school's offer he'll accept, Anthony said it would come down to the system and a suitable atmosphere.
"If I can fit into their system, whether it's a 4-3 or a 3-4 system… if I had to pick today, it'd be the 3-4," he said. "You get to rush the passer a little bit more."
