DT Considering the Tigers

The ink may not be dry on the Class of 2003 football signings, but that does not keep CUTigers.com from looking at the top prospects for 2004. Over the next few weeks, we will explore the southeast for the top junior prospects. First up is a Greensboro Dudley defensive tackle (6'4 290) who we interviewed on Tuesday.

Demario Pressley has the history and the stats to become a top defensive tackle next season. Both he and his team experienced success in 2002 as Greensboro Dudley made it all the way to the 3A Championship Final before they were defeated 19-18 by a surprising Gastonia Asbrook team.

Demario had an outstanding game defensively in the loss. He finished with thirteen tackles (six solo and seven assist). He also had one forced fumble and one and a half sacks for a seven yard loss. The game itself helped propel Demario to the status as one of the top defensive lineman in the state from the class of 2004.

We asked Demario what schools were recruiting him. "NC State, Carolina, Clemson, Virginia, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, pretty much all the ACC. I am wide open right now."

Pressley has not completed his camp schedule, but if 2003 is anything like 2002, he will be a busy camper for the next few months. "Last year I went to a lot of one day camps. I also went to Nike. I will probably go to as many as I can again this year and some overnight camps as well."

Demario helped Dudley to a 11-5 overall record while he recorded 95 tackles and 5 fumble recoveries. Definitely a prospect that needs to be watched in 2003.
