The State of Delaware is sending a second player to Clemson this July and in just over a week, it becomes official.

In Tigertown this weekend for his first and only official visit, CUTigers spoke to Middletown High School offensive tackle Gifford Timothy, who committed to Clemson back in August. It was his first trip back to Clemson since he was down for the Florida State game.

"It was great. I had a great time, meeting some guys on the team and getting to know the coaches," Timothy said.

Starting center Dalton Freeman served as his player host.

"He's a great guy. I enjoyed it a lot. He showed me a lot of stuff, gave me some good information and told me some good things to prepare myself so I'm ready when I come in July," Timothy said.

The best part of his weekend was going to the Clemson/Duke basketball game Saturday night. Although the Tigers lost, Timothy said he had a good time.

During his meeting with head coach Dabo Swinney, they talked about getting ready for next season. Whether Timothy sees the field early or not won't be determined until practice starts next season.

"(Swinney) said everybody's different," Timothy said. "We'll just have to see whenever I get down there and get going with practice.

"We'll see how well I do this spring in preparing myself at home…I need to work really hard this spring to get that chance to play."
