Kentucky will host a three-star running back for an official visit this weekend, just a week after he was in Clemson on official.

Lincoln High School (Ala.) running back D.J. Howard is committed to Auburn, but he's been looking elsewhere, including Clemson.

He's scheduled to arrive in Lexington on Friday.

"I'm just trying to check a few things out," Howard told CUTigers on Thursday night. "I went up there this summer, but I didn't get to see that much. I didn't get the grand tour or anything."

The Wildcat coaches he hears from are secondary coach Chris Thurmond and running back coach Larry Brinson.

"They're just trying to get to know me as a person right now. They want me to come up there and play running back," Howard said. "We never did have a good chance to sit down and talk because I'm committed to Auburn."

He spoke to Clemson defensive backs coach Charlie Harbison Thursday afternoon.

"We were just touching base, just speaking," Howard said.

He remains committed to Auburn, but will make his final decision between Clemson, Auburn and Kentucky on National Signing Day before his entire school at 10:20. Top Stories
