South Pointe High School (Rock Hill, S.C.) defensive end Jadeveon Clowney had four schools he was considering. After this weekend, one more can be added.

"Clemson is in the running for the school I go to now," he said.

Clowney told CUTigers that along with Clemson, he's considering South Carolina, Alabama, Florida and LSU.

He arrived in Clemson around 3:30 on Saturday to watch the basketball game later that night against Duke. It was only the second time he's been to Clemson. As a ninth grader, he attended camp in Tigertown. Saturday's visit was the first he's taken as a recruit.

Clowney walked away from the trip very impressed.

"I know their job is to recruit you," he said. "That's a good place. They want you to be more than a football player up there, which you don't really hear from other schools.

"They love their players. They not only want them to help them win a championship, but to get to know them better in a lot of other things."

Wide receivers coach/recruiting coordinator Jeff Scott and defensive ends coach Chris Rumph have been in regular contact with Clowney has his recruiter.

"They want you to be a better person. They don't want you to just be the best football player. They want you to be the best person and get through school," he said.

As a junior, Clowney had 140 tackles, over 20 sacks and 29 quarterback pressures.
