North Carolina DB Eyeing Clemson

Billy Riddle was a standout at the 2002 Nike Camp in Chapel Hill, NC, and he followed up his spring camp with a stellar senior season at Mocksville High School in Davie, NC. From his free safety spot Riddle had 120 tackles as a junior, and he is looking for more as a senior.

"I played a little bit of running back to start the season," said Riddle. "We had another running back step up though, so I could play full time on defense. I finished with 120 tackles and 1 interception. I would like to get over 140 tackles and 4 interceptions this year."

Riddle plays safety in high school, but at 5-11 and close to 180 pounds he projects at corner on the next level. He has excellent quickness with a true 4.5 forty, and he is extremely physical. He benched 185 16 times as a sophomore at the Nike Camp last spring.

When it comes to college choices, Riddle is not closing any doors.

"I'd like to stay close to home, but I'm open for anything. I'm going to junior days at ECU and Wake Forest. I also like North Carolina, Virginia, and Clemson, but like I said, I'm pretty much open to anyone right now."

Riddle will be at the Nike Camp at Virginia Tech this year, and he will once again be one of the top defensive backs this year.
