Michigan State is becoming a player late in the game for one of the Tigers' 2010 commits.

Anson High School (Wadesboro, N.C.) defensive tackle Tra Thomas committed to Clemson before practice one afternoon at the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.

A month earlier, he visited Michigan State for his first official visit.

On Tuesday night, Thomas told CUTigers that around 11 a.m. on Wednesday morning, he'll announce his final decision, and it's between the Tigers and Spartans.

"I've got to sleep on it," Thomas said. "I'll know in the morning though."

Clemson is "most likely" going to be the school that receives a signed national letter of intent.

"I didn't get any house visits (from Michigan State) like I got from other schools, things like that. After their bowl game, (Michigan State) started to pick back up in a way," Thomas said.

"It will be a sealed deal tomorrow. I'm pretty confident that I'll be a Tiger." Top Stories
