Clear, Rollins to transfer

Tarik Rollins, a red-shirt freshman linebacker, and Byron Clear, a red-shirt sophomore defensive end, will not return to the Clemson football program next season.

Both will remain in school through the end of the spring semester.

Rollins has decided to transfer to another school in search of more playing time, while Clear will graduate later this year after just three years and plans to attend graduate school at another institution. He has made the Dean's List every semester he has been at Clemson.

Rollins red-shirted the 2008 season. He did not appear in a game in 2009. Clear red-shirted the 2007 season. He earned letters in 2008 and 2009 as a reserve linebacker and defensive end. He played in five total games over the last two years.
