Tigers offer Peach State OL

Clemson offensive tackle coach Danny Pearman and offensive coordinator Billy Napier called in a seventh offer to a 2011 offensive tackle on Wednesday. CUTigers has the latest on the newest target from the state of Georgia.

OT Xzavier Ward Profile

CUTigers caught up with newly offered Clemson prospect Xzavier Ward a day after he received an offer from the Tigers. He'd only been hearing from Clemson for about three weeks prior to the offer.

Ward also has offers from Alabama, Georgia, Georgia Tech and N.C. State. Clemson's appealing enough for him to visit this spring.

"I will try to get up to Clemson some time soon, probably for the next Junior Day," he said.

This weekend Ward's heading to Alabama, and he's already been to Georgia.

At Colquitt County High School (Moultrie, Ga.) last season, Ward played right tackle and some left tackle. He'll move into full-time spot on the left-side for his senior season.

The 6-7, 260 pound junior doesn't know much about Clemson, but is familiar with the Tigers' pre-game tradition.

"I know before they go out, they have a rock that they rub a rock before they go out on the field--that's about it," Ward said.

He currently lists no favorites and has no time table to make a decision.
