OG Jason Rexroad Profile
Myrtle Beach High School offensive guard Jason Rexroad has only been offered by Florida International, though he's anticipating others in the near future.
He spoke to Clemson offensive tackles/tight ends coach Danny Pearman this past Thursday. CUTigers spoke to Rexroad recently to see how that conversation went.
"He said it's looking good for me there. He said he's going to watch my film on Monday," he said. "USC and Illinois are pretty close too. I just sent out my highlight film, so I'm sure I'll get a bunch in the next couple of weeks."
Rexroad and Pearman began to map out plans for the upcoming months of recruitment.
"We talked about me coming to spring practices and the spring game. I'm invited to come whenever I want to take a visit down there," he said. "He asked me if I wanted to camp down there and told me I was invited. I'll probably go down there for a one day camp."
Their conversation was only limited to football and recruiting.
"He asked me what I wanted to major in and talked about my future, stuff like that," Rexroad said.
This spring, he's attended South Carolina's Junior Day. He plans to see FIU when he's in the area visiting family and will head to Clemson "once or twice."
"The in-states, Tennessee and FIU are the only for sure (schools to visit) right now," Rexroad said.
"I like the coaches from both of them. As of right now, there's no favorites," Rexroad said.
He's looking for the "whole package" when considering schools.
"First and foremost, academics are a big thing. The facilities, but every big d-one school has facilities, I've come to learn that. Fan-base—everything," Rexroad said. "Playing time—I'd like to play early, maybe after a year or two.
During his freshman and sophomore seasons at North Myrtle Beach High School, Rexroad played right tackle. As a junior at Myrtle Beach, he started at left guard. As a senior, he'll move over to tackle.
Rexroad said he'll decide whenever it feels right.
"It could be next week. It could be during the season…there's no timeframe really," he said. "I'm graduating early, so I kind of have to have a certain time frame."
