"His strengths are his speed and hitting ability," Jefferson assistant coach Lane McLaughlin said. "When he wasn't in the starting lineup, it hurt us. This year, we plan on using Robert at quarterback. We (Jefferson) like to use some of our better athletes at quarterback."
Right now Baham has an early list of favorites, including Georgia, South Carolina, Clemson, Florida, and Florida State.
"Florida State and Georgia are my two favorite teams now," Baham said. "Florida State was my favorite team growing up. Bobby Bowden is a legend and I've always wanted to play for him. In December, I had a chance to play in the state championship game which was held in Doak Campbell stadium. Playing in Doak Campbell was really great. I like Georgia because they have a lot of quality defensive backs that get drafted into the NFL."
The Jefferson high school junior also speaks highly of the Florida Gators.
"Florida has a lot of good defensive backs also," he said. "I got a chance to meet coach Zook when he came to the school to see Andre Caldwell. I really liked him in addition to their recruiting coordinator."
Baham is not only talented on the field but also in the classroom by carrying a solid 2.9 grade point average.
This past season as a year as a junior, he recorded 89 tackles, three interception and 10 knockdowns.
This summer, Baham will attend the Down & Dirty and Florida State football team camp.
