DT Jerome Maybank Profile
It's been a quiet spring since his visit to Clemson for junior day, but the Tigers remain in firm control of Waccamaw High School (Pawley's Island) defensive tackle Jerome Maybank.
He recently spoke to CUTigers for the latest on his recruitment.
"I would have to say that Clemson is my favorite," Maybank said.
South Carolina, North Carolina and West Virginia are all trailing Clemson.
"After I check out the places that I want to see, talk it over with my coaches and family—my mom and dad. That's when I'll make my decision," he said. "It will probably be in the early or late summer."
Maybank plans on hitting the road once the summer rolls around.
"I want to go back to West Virginia but I want to go to the other two schools that have offered me: USC and UNC," he said.
"I've been to USC for two games, but I haven't been to UNC yet."
A trip to Tigertown is also in the cards.
"I'm supposed to come to the camp," Maybank said.
Clemson offensive tackles/tight ends coach Danny Pearman and defensive tackles coach Dan Brooks are in regular contact with Maybank.
"They're always sending me mail and e-mails asking me how I'm doing," he said.
Maybank was asked by CUTigers to share thoughts about each of the four schools in contention.
Clemson: The one thing that I like about Clemson is the coaching staff. They're a pretty good coaching staff. Also, I'm getting to know the players. Brandon Maye's told me it's a good place to go.
South Carolina: I like the style of football that they play. They get after it a lot.
North Carolina: I really haven't talked to anyone from there in a while. From what I've heard, the coaching staff is pretty nice.
West Virginia: They're defensive line coach has really caught my attention. He's always on his players.
