OT Brandon Shell Profile
A four-star prospect that's ranked as the No. 6 offensive tackle by Scout.com in the class of 2011, Goose Creek offensive tackle Brandon Shell recently spoke to CUTigers for the latest on his recruitment.
"I've just had a lot going on. I've been with my family and just haven't really been on a lot of visits," he said.
This spring, Shell has taken only one visit and that was to South Carolina.
Things will heat up in the summer.
"I've got a couple of schools in mind. I'm not sure where I'm going to make it," Shell said. "I know I'm going to make it to the two in-state schools. Probably Georgia, I might go to Alabama, but I don't really know yet."
With offers from the likes of Clemson, South Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and LSU, he's got plenty of choices. Currently, South Carolina is recruiting him the hardest.
"I'm not really talking to anybody right now," Shell said.
He doesn't have any favorites right now. That is still "up in the air."
"I haven't really sat down and actually and gone through all the schools yet," Shell said.
When looking at each school, he'll be considering several areas.
"I'll be looking at my position coach, the head coach, academics and facilities like the weight room," Shell said.
Clemson and South Carolina both stick out because they're the in-state schools.
"I don't want to go anywhere too far," he said. "Those two schools are one of the two schools that I really like. It's like family. I know people that go to both of those schools."
One of Georgia's assistants has made an impression.
"I really like (recruiting coordinator and defensive line) coach (Rodney) Garner. He's cool," Shell said.
The national champions have caught his eye too.
"I haven't really talked to anybody from up there. I just want to go and see how it is," Shell said.
He plans to make his announcement on National Signing Day.
