Clemson will make the cut

Just one offer away from making it an even 20, one of the hottest rising 2011 offensive tackles will cut his list down to 10 sometime shortly after the end of spring practice.

As Tarpon Springs High School (Fla.) wraps up spring practice later this month, Zach DeBell will shift his focus back to recruiting.

Earlier this spring, he dedicated a lot of time to recruiting. DeBell paid Clemson a visit, just one of several stops on a barnstorming tour up the East Coast. On the trip, he stopped at South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Miami, Georgia, North Carolina and Central Florida.

"I don't really have a top 10 right now because I'm focusing on football—spring ball and everything," DeBell said.

Despite the short recruiting hiatus, he's recently picked up offers from N.C. State, Michigan, Missouri and Rutgers. The offers join the likes of Clemson, South Carolina, Georgia Tech and Miami.

"Probably after the spring, after I get settled down and everything, football settles down, I'm going to take a week or two off of lifting, I'm probably going to narrow it down to 10 and then maybe to five," DeBell said.

CUTigers asked, how good do you feel about Clemson being in that top 10, or even that top five?

"Clemson will definitely be in the top 10," he said.

As for the other nine, DeBell wouldn't go into any further detail.

"(Clemson) will be in the top 10. That's all I'm saying right now," he said. rates DeBell as a three-star prospect and the No. 25 offensive tackle in the class of 2011. Top Stories
