Clemson offers 4-star WR

Clemson put its name into the mix for one of the top Florida wide receivers in the class of 2011 when an offer was extended last week to St. Thomas Aquinas' highest rated pass catcher. With over 20 already to his name, where does the Tigers' offer rank among the others?

CUTigers recently caught up with Rashad Greene (Fort Lauderdale) shortly after he picked up the offer from Clemson.

"I got it a couple of days ago," he said. "One of the coaches talked to my coach when he came down to the school."

Greene said there here had been plenty of contact with Clemson prior to receiving the offer late last week.

"They had been sending me a lot of stuff, keeping me posted on how they were doing at their school."

The four-star rated, No. 26 ranked wide receiver now has 25 offers. Along with Clemson; Florida, Florida State, Miami, Georgia and LSU are among a few of those that have offered.

"I'm open to everyone…I'm still breaking it down," he said.

A few things will be considered as Greene looks to whittle down a list of favorites.

"I want to go somewhere that passes the ball the majority of the time, more than they run the ball. I'm not looking forward to red shirting. I want to come in and contribute as a freshman," he said.

This spring, his only trip was to Tallahassee for the Florida State spring game. Greene has plans to make a few visits this summer, but didn't go into specifics.

"I plan on going up to North Carolina, up that way, and hit the different schools that have offered me, go by their camps for a little while and look at some places," he said.
Greene has a pretty good idea of when he wants to commit.

"I'm looking at the beginning of the season or the middle of the season," he said.

As a junior, Greene close to 25 receptions for around 700 yards and 13 touchdowns. Top Stories
