MLB Tony Steward Profile
Defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Kevin Steele is scheduled to make an appearance this week.
CUTigers spoke to Pedro Mendez High School middle linebacker Tony Steward for his thoughts on the Tigers' efforts.
"He's supposed to come Monday, I think," he said.
"It tells me that they're really interested in me and that they're really dedicated to recruiting me. It shows that not only is the coach that's recruiting has come, but the position coach is coming to see me doesn't even recruit this area."
Coaches from across the country have made their way to Saint Augustine to see Steward. Along with the Clemson coaches, Georgia, Oregon, UCLA, Florida and Miami are among the many that have sent representatives to Pedro Mendez.
The Clemson staff continues to impress as Steward plans to be in Tigertown for camp, June 15-18.
He's also planned to hit Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Alabama and Auburn for visits and camp appearances.
As far as favorites go, Steward said, "I have no leaders."
He plans to narrow his list down by the end of this summer or the beginning of his senior season.
"I'll be able to slim it down a bit to a few colleges after I take a couple of these visits during the summer," Steward said.
Following the cuts, he'll begin scheduling and taking official visits. A decision won't come for several months, though.
"I'm going to wait until national signing day," Steward said.
