CUTigers spoke to Bayside High School (Virginia Beach) cornerback Demetrious Nicholson about his trip this weekend.

"I want to see a great campus. I've been talking to coach (Billy) Napier and he tells me that all he needs is one time to get me down there and I'll be blown away," he said. "I'm anticipating that.

"I just want to get around some of the coaches. Hopefully some of the players are there and I'll have a chance to talk with them and also get to talk with the defensive backs coach and the defensive coordinator about how the depth chart would be, if I have a chance to play if I come there."

Plans for other trips this summer have not been set.

"I'm taking it week by week," Nicholson said.

During the school year, he was able to make trips to North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Maryland and Virginia.

"Those are the only schools that I've been to, and Rutgers, also, but that was for a camp," Nicholson said.

Plenty of coaches from around college football stopped at Bayside during the spring evaluation period to check in on him, including Napier.

After Napier's trip, he and Nicholson spoke over the phone.

"He was asking how I've been doing and said he wanted to get me down there, when I was coming down there," Nicholson said. "He kept on bugging me about that. I'm ready to go down there now."

Though he doesn't claim any favorites, there are schools that Nicholson said he knows "more about."

"The schools that I do like that I put ahead are the schools I know about. Those would be North Carolina, (Virginia) Tech and Clemson. Well, I don't know much about (Clemson). They just seem very interesting to me—everything. I don't know why, it's just something about them. And UVA too."

He finished his junior season with 28 tackles, 12 pass break-ups and nine interceptions. On offense, Nicholson had 33 catches for 850 yards and 11 touchdowns. Top Stories
