Clemson is in the hunt for a 2011 three-star Florida cornerback that claims offers from several big names across the college football landscape.

CUTigers recently spoke to Countryside High School (Clearwater, Fla.) cornerback Alex Dixon about his recruitment.

Along with Clemson, he's picked up offers from: Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Kentucky, Nebraska, North Carolina and Tennessee.

Of the Clemson offer Dixon said, "It's been a while back when I got that. I don't remember the date, but it's been a while ago."

"They're always on TV. When they are, I'll always watch it."

Defensive ends coach Chris Rumph serves as Dixon's main recruiter to Clemson.

"I stay in contact with him. I called him not long ago, but he was busy with camp. I had to call him back after, but I keep in touch with him," Dixon said.

Though he's yet to visit Tigertown, might one be in the works?

"I'd like to go up there and visit. I heard it was nice there and they have a nice stadium and it's a nice campus," Dixon said.

Though he doesn't claim a list of favorites right now, Dixon would like to have a list put together by the time he goes back to school this fall.

Several areas will be judged as he looks to breakdown that list.

"I want to go to a good program, have a relationship with the coaches and a place that has the style that I play on defense," Dixon said.

"I'll have to talk it over with my family. They'll be part of my decision."

When asked about potential official visit destinations, Dixon named three.

"I know I want to go to North Carolina, Auburn and Kentucky. That's all I know, right now," he said.

As a junior, Dixon had four interceptions.
