Clemson punter Dawson Zimmerman enters his junior season this fall and the Tiger coaching staff is looking to add a scholarship punter in the 2011 recruiting class.

CUTigers caught up with Myers Parker High School kicker/punter Miller Snyder, who was in Clemson earlier this summer to kick at the 2010 Dabo Swinney Football Camp.

He punted for special teams coordinator Andre Powell during the camp.

"I got a chance to talk to him. He told me they were planning on giving a scholarship to a punter," Snyder said. "I'm primarily a kicker, but I can punt. I can do combo."

His work at the camp impressed Powell.

"He said I did extremely well and they'll see how I do down the road. They'll let me know," Snyder said.

He recently picked up his first offer from Columbia.

"I plan on using that when reaching out to a few schools, to let them know there's other interest in me," Snyder said.

Along with Clemson, he's in contact with North Carolina and North Carolina State, both of which he camped at this summer. Vanderbilt has also been in his top three for quite some time. Harvard is also in the mix.

The camp visit to Clemson was the first time Snyder had visited Tigertown.

"The campus was great. I really loved it. I like how the town really supported the football team," he said. "My mom and I went out to eat. The guy who took us out knew the guy who ran the diner. It was just amazing how everyone is behind the football program and knows what's going on. I really enjoyed the visit." Top Stories
