MLB Tremayne McNair Profile
Tremayne McNair was ready to commit to North Carolina earlier this month. Once he revealed those plans to the Tar Heel staff, McNair was informed there were higher priorities at linebacker.
Things have since slowed down. CUTigers was recently updated on the current list of favorites, in no order.
"Clemson, Georgia Tech, [North] Carolina, ECU and probably Wake Forest," he said
McNair would like to take a few of his official visits this fall to checkout game days.
"I haven't planned any yet. I want to take one to Clemson and Georgia Tech," he said.
A timeframe for a commitment isn't known for the White Oak High School (Jacksonville) middle linebacker.
"I don't have a certain time or whatever. Basically, when it feels right," he said.
One area in particular will be evaluated as McNair takes his visits and works towards the end of the process.
"I'll be looking at the whole football atmosphere. Just how the town or the city takes it, how lively it is—I guess. The whole atmosphere," he said.
McNair's only visit to Tigertown was earlier this summer for an afternoon. He's yet to experience game day in Death Valley.
"I heard it's pretty exciting," he said.
Practice started earlier this week for White Oak and McNair has several goals in mind for his senior season.
"I got all conference last year. I'd like to get that again. I want the team to go to the playoffs. I want to get 1,500 yards all-purpose and 15 touchdowns," he said. "I want to get 100 tackles."
As a junior, McNair had 80 tackles and seven sacks.
