Jack Britt (Fayetteville, N.C.) 2011 defensive tackle Devonte Brown visited Clemson with a large contingent of teammates and family for Saturday's intra-squad scrimmage in Death Valley.

Brown's teammate, four-star Eric MacLain, was one of three 2011 Clemson commits that were on hand.

"It went good. I had fun with everybody. Of course I was there with my family. I enjoyed myself and the players and coach [Dan] Brooks and [Dabo] Swinney," Brown said.

He recently provided CUTigers with analysis of the scrimmage.

"The team looked good. Everybody was penetrating and pursuing to the ball, even if the tackle was already made. That was good," Brown said. "The defense was going hard. They were looking good.

"The plays are the same thing as ours', just called differently. It's a great environment to be in. It was good."

Clemson remains in his top group when it comes to recruiting, and that group also includes Florida and North Carolina. Brown said none of the three stands out above the rest.

He plans to take official visits to all three schools this fall.

"I definitely want to visit Chapel Hill and Florida," Brown said. "I'm definitely going to try to visit some other places, too. Me and my mother have to finish out planning where I'm going."

CUTigers asked if he was planning an official visit to Clemson.

"Yes. Of course, I have to," Brown said.

This fall, he'll be playing both offensive and defensive tackle at Jack Britt. It's the first time in a several seasons that Brown's played offensive tackle, too.
