PF Nick Jacobs Profile
CUTigers caught up with South Atlanta High School power forward Nick Jacobs shortly after he wrapped up his first trip to Tigertown on Saturday.
"I spoke with coach Brownell all day. He spoke to me about the campus and stuff…it was my first time [in Clemson]," he said. "I loved the campus. That's the type of campus I'm looking for. I liked the fact that he told me that the size of the classes are 20-25. It's not a real big college. I like a smaller college that has a big name. Clemson definitely fits that picture."
Jacobs was in town while Brownell was hosting his elite camp. Though Jacobs didn't participate, he spent the entire afternoon in Littlejohn Coliseum. He was often flanked by Brownell and assistant coach Rick Ray.
"So far Clemson is the place I've liked the most of the places I've been to," Jacobs said.
He's already visited Alabama, Auburn and Georgia.
Jacobs has an official visit to Clemson scheduled for the weekend of Oct. 2. He's also planning to visit Georgia on the weekend of Oct. 16.
Several areas will be under evaluation as he takes official visits.
"Number of students, how nice the campus is, how close I am with the players, of course how close I am with the coaches. What percentile of players went to the league—that kind of stuff," Jacobs said.
He plans to sign in the November signing period.
Scout.com rates Jacobs with four stars and ranks him as the No. 18 power forward in the class of 2011.
