Rams Head Toward Saturday Scrimmage

Colorado State University's football squad was back on the practice field Wednesday for a two-hour workout. "I think that the players are continuing to work hard. We seem to be making progress, so I'm pleased with that," said Rams' coach Sonny Lubick following the workout. "We have a good attitude and good team chemistry."

He continued to praise the play of David Vickers, a two-year starter at linebacker who has since switched to strong safety.

"He has really had a good spring, and looked comfortable at safety," said Lubick. Lubick said the rest of the practice this week includes a workout Friday then Saturday's scrimmage at 11 a.m. The Rams conclude with an annual intrasquad spring game April 20 at Hughes Stadium.

Saturday's workout will include another situational scrimmage, similar to the 60-play drill a week ago.

"It will give us another chance to evaluate where we are, as well as see if we have some people step up," said Lubick.
