Responding to an earlier report on Rams, and a subsequent story in the Rocky Mountain News, Colorado State University and Fort Collins officials are denying that the legal matter involving football player Frostee Rucker has been dropped.

Rucker still faces a sexual assault allegation – despite reports that the woman involved recanted her story and admitted lying to police. Sources had earlier told The Insiders that the matter was being dropped. That is not the case – at least not yet.

According to a story in the Fort Collins Coloradoan, the hearing for Rucker has been continued until July 1, allowing both sides more time for the investigation. A parallel investigation, the university's judicial affairs hearing and results of that hearing, are also still pending.

Rucker had his spring season cut short when he was accused of sexual assault in mid-April. He was indefinitely removed from the Rams football team, pending the outcome of the investigation and any resulting legal charges.
