Rams Ready to Buffalo Battle

The next time Colorado State takes the field in uniform, the Rams won't be practicing in Fort Collins. Instead, Coach Sonny Lubick and his team will be on the field Saturday for the annual in-state battle with Colorado.

Saturday's game kicks off at 11 a.m. (Radio: Colorado State Sports Network; T.V.: ESPN2) at INVESCO Field at Mile High in Denver. Lubick and the Rams completed the Fort Collins portion of their preparations Thursday with a 90-minute workout in shorts, helmets and shoulder pads (shells).

"We had a good week, and the players worked hard," said Lubick. "I think both teams will be excited to play, and it will be a great atmosphere and a great environment. It will be exciting for the fans and for both teams."

Athletic department officials said late Thursday that about 600 reserved tickets remained for the game. Tickets are available on line at CSURAMS.com, or by calling the Rams' athletic ticket office (491-RAMS or 1-800-491-RAMS) or via TicketMaster (303-830-TIXS).

Colorado State enters the game 1-0 on the year after having beaten Virginia in Charlottesville last week in the Jim Thorpe Assn. Classic. It will be Colorado's opening game of the season.
