More changes for offensive line

It's no secret the Colorado offensive line didn't play very well at California last week. When the Buffs host Hawaii in Folsom Field on Saturday, the team will use another new starting lineup. Get inside for more.

Offensive line coach Denver Johnson said junior Mike Iltis will take over as the starting center this week against Hawaii after starting at left guard last week.

Johnson said Iltis played pretty well against the Bears and deserves his opportunity at center. He replaces senior Keenan Stevens, who was on the preseason watch list for the Rimington Award, given annually to the nation's best center.

Johnson said Ethan Adkins will move back into the starting lineup at left guard. Those are the only changes Johnson anticipated after practice today (Tuesday), but there is a chance other changes could be made before game time.

"That's not a demotion of Keenan," Johnson said. "What we've got there is a cluster of guys there and there's not a lot of difference in them. We want to reward good play. We want to get everyone some work. We're just trying to search for the guys who play the best, the most consistently."

The Buffs gave up six sacks last week and managed just 1.7 yards per rushing attempt.
