Big Ten

Ten members of the Colorado football team were honored by the Big 12 Conference football coaches today by being selected to the All-Conference team.

Offensive lineman Nate Solder was named offensive lineman of the year in the conference after starting every game and playing every offensive snap of the season at left tackle for the Buffs.

"That's just a great honor," Solder said. "That's amazing because there are so many great O-linemen in this conference. It's a great conference. It means a lot."

It is the second consecutive year Solder has earned first-team All-Conference honors from the coaches.

Solder and cornerback Jimmy Smith were the only first-team honorees for the Buffs. Smith also started every game during his senior season and finished as the team's third leading tackler.

Eight Buffs earned honorable mention recognition from the coaches, including linebacker B.J. Beatty, cornerback Jalil Brown, defensive end Josh Hartigan, defensive tackle Will Pericak, tight end Ryan Deehan, wide receivers Scotty McKnight and Paul Richardson and offensive lineman Ryan Miller.

The Associated Press is scheduled to release its All-Big 12 team on Wednesday.
