Buffs offer Harrington

Sherrard Harrington was leaning heavily toward Iowa when considering his college options just last week, but he received a phone call Sunday that changed things. Get inside for more.

Sherrard Harrington, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound cornerback from Woodson High School in Washington D.C. said Colorado defensive coordinator Greg Brown called him Sunday and extended a scholarship offer.

"It's definitely a relief and I'm definitely intrigued by that," Harrington said. "It's an honor, most definitely."

Harrington plans to visit Iowa next weekend and he said he expects to work out the details of his official visit to Colorado this week as well. He said he will probably come to Boulder Jan. 21 or 28.

"I'm very interested in Colorado especially with the resume the coaches have," Harrington said.

Cornerback is a need position for the Buffs in this recruiting cycle. Harrington said no matter what happens on his visit to Iowa, he plans to wait to make a decision about his future until he has visited Boulder.

Harrington said Brown told him that his name has come up frequently in CU recruiting meetings and that coaches like what they have seen of him on film.
