Billups to New York in Anthony deal

Former Colorado Buffaloes star Chauncey Billups has made regular appearances around the Coors Events Center since being traded to Denver three years ago. Billups won't be seen nearly as often in Boulder in the future after being traded to the New York Knicks today as part of the Carmelo Anthony deal.

Chauncey Billups leaves the Denver organization for the second time and will join his sixth different NBA franchise, playing his home games in historic Madison Square Garden. He played for several of those organizations in more than one stint, including the Nuggets.

Billups had been the Nuggets starting point guard since arriving in a trade from Detroit in the 2008-09 season.

Billups was averaging 16.5 points and 5.3 assists per game prior to being traded today.
