Another hoops commit

The Colorado basketball program had more than one reason to celebrate in the locker room after beating Nebraska on Saturday night at the Coors Events Center. A talented in-state prospect became the second 2012 recruit of the week to commit to the program. Get inside for more.

Wesley Gordon, a 6-foot-7, wing from Sierra High School in Colorado Springs was on hand to watch the Buffs beat Nebraska and earn their 19th victory of the year and a No. 5 seed in the Big 12 tournament next week.

Gordon informed coach Tad Boyle and his staff that he will be a Buff in 2012. His father, Ed Gordon, confirmed the decision on his way out of the arena.

Gordon joins Josh Scott, a fellow Colorado Springs product, as the first two members of the 2012 recruiting class. Scott, a junior this year at Lewis-Palmer High School, also informed CU coaches earlier in the week that he wants to play his college ball in Boulder.

The two prospects already are among the top prospects in the state this year and might be the two best players in the state next year when they are seniors.

We hope to have more from Gordon about his decision later today.
