Ryan Miller earns Outland Trophy nod

Colorado senior guard Ryan Miller was one of 65 players named to the Outland Trophy preseason watch list today.

The Outland Trophy is presented annually to the best interior lineman in college football. The award includes players on both sides of the ball. There are 16 defenders on the list of 65.

Miller's former teammate, Nate Solder, was a finalist for the Outland Trophy last season. Solder went on to be the 17th overall draft choice in the NFL draft in April, taken by the New England Patriots.

Ryan Miller is one of the most experienced offensive linemen in the country entering the 2011 season. He has played in each of his four seasons in Boulder. When his 2008 sophomore season was cut short by a broken leg in the fourth game, the NCAA awarded him a medical redshirt season saving a year of eligibility.

Miller and his Colorado teammates report to campus for the start of fall camp on Aug. 3. The first practice is slated for Aug. 4.
