Siragusa eager to visit Colorado

Mater Dei offensive linemen eyeing Colorado, eight others.

Nico Siragusa was hoping to spend last weekend in Boulder, checking out the Colorado Buffaloes.

Instead, he was home in California.

"I had (an official visit) planned but didn't end up taking it," the three-star offensive line recruit said. "I don't know what happened, but I really want to come out there."

Siragusa said a miscommunication between himself and Colorado line coach Steve Marshall led to him not coming to Boulder. Yet, the 6-foot-6, 300-pound star from Mater Dei Catholic High School said he's still very interested in CU.

"I like them a lot," he said. "Eventually I will (take the official visit)."

Siragusa currently has nine offers -- in addition to CU, Fresno State, New Mexico State, Oregon State, San Diego State, San Jose State, SMU, UNLV and Washington State have offered.

Asked if he has a top-five list, he said, "Everybody has a chance right now."

Colorado was one of the first schools to give Siragusa an offer and he's been impressed with the Buffs ever since.

"I like how coach (Jon Embree) is building them up," he said. "I want to be part of a program that used to be very good and he's building them back up to where they used to be. I like that."

So far, Siragusa has taken just one official visit, to Fresno State. He said he's visiting San Diego State this weekend.
