Mullen linebacker showing interest in Buffs

Linebacker Patrick Healy, who will be a senior this fall at Mullen High School, talks about recruiting and his interest in Colorado.

Scout: Have you been in contact with the University of Colorado?
Healy: I've been talking to them quite a bit and I'm definitely interested in them.

Scout: Who have you talked to?
Healy: (Linebackers coach Brian) Cabral.

Scout: Is Colorado high on your list?
Healy: Definitely. It's definitely pretty high up on my list and I'm looking at them as much as anyone right now.

Scout: What other schools are looking at you at this point?
Healy: Air Force, Arizona State, UConn, Villanova, Nebraska.

Scout: Have you had offers from anybody yet?
Healy: A couple of them said they're pretty close to offering.

Scout: Has Colorado offered yet?
Healy: Not yet. They said they want me to come out to the camp this summer and see how I do.

Scout: What do you like about CU?
Healy: Obviously the coaching staff is great. I had a chance to go up and meet coach Cabral and he's a great guy and I enjoyed meeting him. They have a great program up there with great facilities. There's just nothing that you can go wrong with up there.

Scout: What is your background?
Healy: I was born in New Hampshire and we're from Massachusetts and still have a house back there. We moved out here (to Colorado) when I was pretty young.

Scout: Have you always followed the Buffs?
Healy: Oh yeah, sure. It's pretty easy to follow them here, but I definitely watch to see how they do week-in and week-out.

Scout: Does CU project you at linebacker in college?
Healy: Yeah, they said they think I can play it. I love playing it and I have been playing it since I was six years old.

Scout: How well do you know current CU linebacker and fellow Mullen Mustang Brady Daigh?
Healy: He's a good friend of mine and he's a good friend of my brother, too, so I know him pretty well.
