Colorado camp Q&A: OL Jack Harris caught up with Colorado junior lineman Jack Harris for a quick interview. Harris, who missed all of 2010 and all but two games in 2011 because of injuries, is likely to be CU's starting right tackle this season.

Scout: How are you feeling coming into the year?

Harris: I'm feeling pretty good. Right now I'm moving in between right guard and right tackle, depending on what's going on at center and just wherever I'm needed. It's been going well.

Scout: What starting job are you hoping for?

Harris: I'll play wherever, but I think I'll be at right tackle.

Scout: How frustrating has it been to go through all the injuries the past two years?

Harris: I've been out way too much. It's been rough, but I'm just trying to stay with what I can do and what I'm doing. I've just got to get over it and move on and not look at the past and focus on what's ahead.

Scout: You probably figured you'd be further along at this point.

Harris: Yeah, I was slated to start as a redshirt freshman (in 2010) and then I blew my shoulder out and missed the whole year. And, then last year (missed final 11 games with broken tibia). Stuff happens.

Scout: What is the key for you to stay on the field this year and be healthy?

Harris: I think flexibility is a lot of it. Coach (Malcolm) Blacken and coach (Jake) Cox and all of them have done a great job. Knee-bend and stuff is great. I feel a lot better than where I have with stiffness. That was part of it, and then just getting adequately strong for what I'm doing. I think I'm finally at that point.

Scout: You lose some key guys, but how do you feel about this line?

Harris: I feel good. We need to get some guys going, like always. We still have a lot of work to do, but I like them. We're young and pretty athletic. We've got Dave (Bakhtiari) and me and Gus (Handler), so hopefully we can carry us, but I feel pretty good about us.

Scout: Is this a line you feel can be successful is moving the chains on the ground?

Harris: Definitely. It's all mental. Once we get that down, I think we'll do pretty well.
