#44 Solomon Hill – The senior leader as able to step up for the Wildcats in a game that was at times closer than the score suggests. Arizona needed Hill to separate himself from the rest of the team as a leader and he delivered. Even though he had three turnovers, Hill dished out four assists and led the team to victory.
Arizona followed up a poor rebounding performance with a masterful rebounding performance. The Wildcats out-rebounded UTEP 35-15. The Miners are one of the biggest teams that Arizona will face this season and this game showed why the height difference is actually meaningful.
In addition, it is notable to highlight one of the negatives of the evening. Arizona committed 19 turnovers on the night, yet still managed to win by 21. The Wildcats made up for the turnovers by hitting nine out of eighteen three-pointers.
Sean Miller Quotable:
"I was proud of our team's effort on the glass," Sean Miller said. "Rebounding the ball 35-15 against a team that physical says a lot about our depth and height of our team. To me, that was the difference in the game."
"Everybody can contribute on any given night," Hill said. "It's not going to be two guys that go out there and get twenty. Everybody on our team is a player. Any given night, a guy can be good. Other guys are going to step up and that's how we play as a team."
