Holmes is Planning Spring Trips

Kishawn Holmes (5'8/170) helped lead Vista Murrieta to the CIF Championship Game as a junior. He was one of the top players in Vegas for the 7v7 last weekend and schools have already taken notice.

At 5'8 and 170 pounds Kishawn Holmes of Vista Murrieta was perfectly built to take advantage of the open spaces in the New Level Athletics 7v7 last weekend in Las Vegas. He took advantage of the format to show off his ankle breaking moves in open space and was the top running back at the event that I saw in both days.

Holmes rushed for over 1,000 yards at Vista Murrieta in 2012, a powerful program who keeps churning out double digit win seasons and players to watch including last year's No. 1 player in the West Su'a Cravens (USC).

"Colorado and Oklahoma State are pretty much offers right now," said Holmes after one of his games last weekend. "I'm going to trip to Colorado for their Spring Game. I'm going to trip to Oklahoma State for their Spring Game, and I've been talking to Boise State a lot. So hopefully in the Spring I can pull that one off too."

Holmes rushed for over 1200 yards on just 129 carries as a junior, but he should see his workload increase with the loss of senior quarterback Nick Stevens and Cravens.

"Su'a Cravens is gone, so I have to pick up the load from there. I want to be a multi-talented athlete. Besides playing running back, I'm also going to be playing safety, corner, receiver, returning kicks...anything I can possibly do to help contribute to winning next year."

Vista Murrieta was a FOX Sports Next Top 50 team in 2011 and 2012 and if Holmes can reach his goals with the Broncos, he'll keep Vista Murrieta in the Top 50 as he works his way to the next level.
