One of the nation's top point guards in 2014 received an offer last week that has the talented basketball player smiling.
"I was very happy about it," Cartwright told BuffPlayBook recently. "I have been talking to several of their coaches recently, Coach (Tad) Boyle got the chance to watch me play."
Apparently that's all it took for Boyle to extend an official offer to the 6-foot-2, 170 point guard. Cartwright is a four star prospect by Scout.com and is rated as the No. 18th best point guard in the country.
"Coach Boyle liked the way I played," Cartwright said. "Getting the offer from Colorado was great."
Cartwright hasn't taken a trip to Boulder yet, something he hopes to accomplish sometime during the summer.
"I hear it's a great place, a great college campus," Cartwright said. "Everybody tells me it's a beautiful place, with the mountains and everything."
Cartwright averaged 18.9 points a game, a long with 4.5 assist, four steals and four rebounds.
It appears that Cartwright will let the recruiting process play out before making a decision.
"I haven't narrowed it down at all right now," Cartwright said. "I have several offers from Pac 12 schools, I'm hearing from a lot of places and a lot of different conferences."
Although Cartwright hasn't narrowed his list, he made one thing pretty clear.
"If I came up with a short list right now, Colorado would be on it for sure," Cartwright said. "Its a school that I'm definitely considering."
