It' was a special day for one recent athlete that received a scholarship offer from the University of Colorado.

California running back Squally Canada from Milpitas High School celebrated his birthday on Tuesday May 7th, he also received an official offer from Coach Mike MacIntyre and the Colorado Buffaloes.

BuffPlayBook.com visited with Canada Tuesday night to get his thoughts on the Buffs.

"It was great to get an offer on my birthday," Canada said. "Colorado has a great new head football coach."

Currently Canada has two official offers from Colorado and Boise State.

"I have a lot of interest in Boise State," Canada said. "I will try to take a visit to Colorado, it will depend on how my camp goes at Boise in early June."

Canada, a 5-foot-11, 185-pound running back finished his junior season with 987 yards, a pretty big accomplishment since he missed five and a half games due to an injury.

Canada is impressed on what MacIntyre and his coaching staff did at San Jose State.

"How he turned that program around and into a Top 25 program is impressive," Canada said. "I expect he will do great things at Colorado."
