One California athlete picked up his first official offer this past week.

Villa Park athlete Louis Vecchio, who plays on both sides of the ball, is very excited about picking up his first BCS offer from Colorado.

BuffPlayBook.com recently caught up with Vecchio to get his thoughts about the Colorado Buffaloes.

"I was ecstatic when I received the offer from them," Vecchio said. "Coach Klayton Adams came and watched my spring game, I spoke to Coach (Mike) MacIntyre last week and received the offer from him."

Vecchio, a 6-foot-4, 240-pound athlete, plays both tight end and defensive end for his high school team. It appears that Colorado may be recruiting him to play on both sides of the ball.

"They told me that they could see me playing both sides of the ball for them," Vecchio said. "They thought I played great in my spring game and Coach MacIntyre loves how physical I play on defense."

Getting his first offer from a PAC 12 school couldn't make Vecchio more happy.

"They have a great academic reputation," Vecchio said. "They have a coaching staff that has proven that they can turn football programs around."

Vecchio was impressed with the Buffs new head football coach.

"Coach MacIntyre wants to get to know me better personally," Vecchio said. "He talked to me about life in general, not just football."

Vecchio plans taking a visit to Boulder sometime this summer to check out Colorado's campus first-hand.
