Colorado Coach Mike MacIntyre is making recruiting the state of Texas a priority. One Lone Star State athlete that has an offer and interest in the Buffs is Houston's Dominique Barnett. Go "Inside" to see what Barnett thinks of the Buffs and when he plans on visiting Boulder.

Colorado new Head Football Coach Mike MacIntyre has made no secret that recruiting the state of Texas is a priority for him and his Buff Coaching staff.

With numerous offers out to Texas athletes including two commitments already from the Lone Star State, it appears that there may be more on the recruiting horizon.

One Houston athlete that has an offer from Colorado is Alief Elsik defensive back Dominique Barnett.

BuffPlayBook.com caught up with Barnett Tuesday night to get an update on his recruiting process.

"Right now I don't know a lot about them," Barnett said. "I'm going to camp there on the 21st of this month, looking forward to learning more about their program."

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound athlete brings good size to the defensive backfield.

Colorado wide receiver Coach Troy Walters is recruiting Barnett for CU.

"Coach Walters and I are building a great relationship," Barnett said. "He is a really cool coach."

Barnett currently has offers from Colorado and the University of Texas at El Paso.

"Getting the opportunity to play in the PAC 12 is a great opportunity," Barnett said. "There is a lot of competition in that league."

Barnett plans on taking the visit to Colorado before making a decision.

"I will go to their camp and see how I feel about Colorado afterwards," Barnett said. "I'm looking forward to the camp."
